We are pleased to support the George Fox community in and around Newberg, Oregon with food that is alive with flavor and nutrition, prepared from scratch using authentic ingredients.  We do this in a socially responsible manner for the well-being of our guests, communities and the environment.

From morning breakfast buffets to elegant receptions, you will find that we only offer the finest, freshest ingredients prepared with creativity and passion, and presented with style and elegance.  Our catering team can coordinate all of the details including staffing, equipment rentals, china service, and specialty linen.

We are proud to share with you the menus on the following pages, and will gladly assist you with selecting items and developing custom menus for your event.

 

CATERING POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Office Hours & Placing Orders

Bon Appétit Catering office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Our phone number is 503-554-2500.  Current menus are available online and can be found here.

14 days advance notice is preferred for all catering requests. All catering orders must be placed no later than 7 business days prior to the event. This notice enables us to adequately order, staff and plan for your event. Custom menus require at least two (2) weeks’ advance notice.

Late orders will result in a late charge. Guest counts must be guaranteed by the client a minimum of 5 business days prior to the event. Clients will be charged for the guaranteed numbers of guests or the actual number in attendance, whichever is greater.

Your catering order is not booked or confirmed until we contact you with an email confirmation of your order.

Service Fees

Pricing on the catering website is preferred institutional pricing. Third-party catered events are subject to a 20% service fee.

 

Catering Details 

Catering orders may be placed online through our online ordering system; CaterTrax. Special event inquiries should be addressed directly with the Catering Manager at (503) 554-2500.

The catering department should be made aware of any program-specific details: meetings, speakers, or any other activity that will occur before, during, or following the time catering service is requested. This may affect our ability to properly set up, service or clean up your event.

Catered events are scheduled to include (3) hours of service which includes event set up, mealtime and clean up time.  Events requiring more than (3) hours of service time may incur additional labor charges. 

Off Site deliveries will incur a minimum charge of $20 within Newberg, and increase based on distance outside of Newberg.

Service Fees:  ALL off-campus events will have a 20% service charge added on the total, this is independent of any gratuity you may wish to add for your service staff.

Food cleanup will be typically be completed by Bon Appétit staff immediately following the event. Due to scheduling, room cleanup for late afternoon, evening and weekend events may be scheduled for the morning of the next business day. Bon Appetit is not responsible for removal or rearranging of any tables, chairs or other furniture.

Standard black or white linens for guest dining tables and food and beverage tables will be provided at no charge.  Linen for any additional tables needed for your event not directly used for food will be $3.00 per table cloth.

The George Fox Office of Conferences & Event Services

Bon Appetit does not reserve meeting rooms, tables, chairs or other equipment.

Before you book with Bon Appetit, start by contacting the George Fox Conference & Event Services or visit the on-line booking site:  25Live George Fox University. Reserve the date and location of your event as early as possible, even if the date is tentative. Event Services staff members will check availability of space and arrange set-up of your event, including table and seating needs, floor plan, podiums, and audio/visual needs. Menu Pricing 

Our menu prices are based on current market conditions.  We reserve the right to make changes when necessary.  Prices will be guaranteed no more than 30 days prior to an event.  Prices do not include temporary labor or additional rental items.  Labor pricing is not guaranteed more than 30 days from when order is placed.

Menu Item Substitutions

Bon Appetit reserves the right to make reasonable substitutions to menus if ingredients are unavailable.  Major items, such as proteins will be disclosed to clients. Please let us know of any major allergies when placing your order. 

Late Orders

Bon Appétit Catering will make every attempt to accommodate late requests based upon product availability and previously scheduled catering events. A rush charge of $30.00 may be applied.

The rush charge covers accelerated ordering and staffing, as well as any fees we incur from the rushed order. Proper notice enables us to adequately order, staff, and plan for the event.

Changes/Guarantees

All changes to menu selections, guest counts and event arrangements must be confirmed no later than (5) business days prior to the event.  Any event which is cancelled after this time will result in the client being charged the full amount.  Increases of guest count less than 72 hours in advance will incur a 20% late fee surcharge.

Dietary Restrictions

In the interest of providing a safe and enjoyable catering experience, it is important that our clients make Bon Appétit Catering fully aware of any guest dietary restrictions, food sensitivities and/or allergies at the time you place your order. 

Clients or guest with serious allergies or sensitivities should be aware that we regularly handle and prepare eggs, milk, wheat, shellfish, fish, sesame, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and other potential allergens in all of our food productions facilities.

Removal of Food

The handling of food in a safe manner is imperative. Food not handled in a safe manner is a health hazard. For this reason, we do not recommend the removal of food from any catered event. Should you choose to take food with you, we will not be responsible for its quality or safety.

Labor

An additional charge for labor will be applied to an order that has china service.

Additional labor costs may incur if the scheduled event time is greater than 3 hours.

Events held outside our normal hours of operation, 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. during academic periods and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. during break periods, will incur an additional labor charge.

Labor is billed at a per hour cost of $45.00 per hour for servers or $60.00 per hour for onsite chefs.

Equipment

For any event not attended by catering employees, you are responsible for all equipment provided from the beginning of the event until clean-up time. Removal of any service item is prohibited.

You will be notified of any missing items and have 48 hours to return the items to the Bon Appétit main office.

Any items not returned within this time frame will be billed at full replacement cost to the department responsible for the event.

Rented Goods & Charge

Bon Appétit Catering can coordinate specific floral needs for your event with adequate advance notice.

Outdoor events requiring a gas grill will require the rental of such grill for use at that event. Grill rental will be coordinated by Bon Appétit catering and rental fee will be applied to event invoice.

 Linen

Specialty linens and cloth napkins in colors other than black or white will require 7 business days lead time to order, and are dependent on vendor availability.

Linen for food and beverage tables will be provided at no charge. 

Extra linens are available at $3.00 per piece. Please inform catering of any display, registration, name tag or materials tables you require linen for. This ensures we have the amounts/colors requested in stock.

China Usage

Unless otherwise specified, disposable service ware is included in our catered event pricing.

Formal service ware (china, silverware, glassware and linen napkins) is available for most catered events (up to 150 people) taking place on the George Fox University Campus. A charge of $5.95 per person will be applied to events where such wares are requested. China is available on a first-come first-served basis.

Offsite events requesting china service will require rental of all such items.  Rental wares can be arranged by Bon Appetit and applied directly to Event Invoice, or may be handled by the client directly.  Client arranged rentals are the sole responsibility of the client before, during and after the Event.

Payment for Catering Services

George Fox University clients may provide an accounting code as sufficient payment.

Bon Appétit requires all third-party clients to pay a 50% deposit of the event’s projected costs 30 days prior to the event.  The balance must be paid in full on or before the day of the event.

Bon Appétit accepts most major credit cards as well as checks. Please make checks payable to Bon Appétit.
